Cuban Salsa

It combines song and dance
to express life's emotions.

The name “Salsa” means “sauce” in Spanish, and it was used to describe the spicy and flavorful music and dance style that had originated in Cuba in the 1950s. The roots of Cuban Salsa can be traced back to the Afro-Cuban culture, which is a blend of African, European, and indigenous cultures. No matter where it came from, a part of salsa’s enduring popularity is its ability to bring people closer together with its strong, hypnotic Latin flavors.

Process

Each footprint was captured on a base with the three colors blue, red and white, representing the Cuban flag, while these vivid colors melted with the base color and mixed together brought out several shades of bright to dark pink. Sanaz and Luca delivered a big show, while dancing to the Salsa tunes of the Latin Jazz band Iguazù, and created this abstract piece of art with a vivid and dynamic color range.
